About The Show

Brand New Life: A Dust Bowl Musical tells the story of Ellie, a girl who has the gift of “Sight” but wishes she could be an ordinary girl. During the Dust Bowl, Ellie and her family—Mama, Daddy, and younger brother, Robert—are struggling to save their farm, but when a young rainmaker fails to bring the rain, Daddy disappears and it is up to Ellie to find him and bring him home. Facing this challenge brings Ellie anger and fear, but three people she meets in her search and the rainmaker change her life: a famous Aviator, a woman who understands hope and a homeless man who lost his home in the Dust Bowl. This uplifting story is filled with hope, courage, humor and music, a picture of one brave family who stayed during the Dust Bowl.

From the 1997 animated big-screen favorite to the 2017 Broadway stage performances and tours since, the story of Anastasia has drawn audiences from around the world. This enchanting story set in post-WW1 Paris follows Russian-born Anya in her determination to find her home, her family, and her place in the world. The heartwarming soundtrack includes the familiar movie classics, “Journey to the Past” and “Once Upon a December. High school students from Beaver Dam and the surrounding communities will impress and inspire you as they transport you through their talented performances. Previously labeled a youth performance, this show draws quite a crowd and overheard phrases like, “I can’t believe they were high schoolers.” Plan this summer to enjoy this new addition to the BDACT Mainstage Series.
